Common Nexus is a holding company for software and media projects that share a common set of values: clarity, respect, and longevity.
What We Are
Common Nexus LLC is an umbrella organization that houses two practices: a software studio building privacy-respecting apps, and a media arm creating thoughtful content about technology, culture, and systems.
We're small by design. We're not chasing scale, venture funding, or rapid growth. We're building things we believe in, at a pace that allows for care and consideration.
How We're Structured
The company operates as a simple holding structure:

Individual products and projects operate under their own names, with Common Nexus serving as the connective tissue that holds them together. You might see "by Common Nexus" as an endorsement line, but each product has its own identity.

Our work is guided by a few core convictions:
Clarity over complexity
We believe the best tools are ones people can understand. Hidden complexity creates anxiety; clear design creates confidence. We aim for software and media that explains itself.
Ownership over extraction
The dominant model of consumer technology treats people as products—harvesting attention, data, and time. We reject this. Your data belongs to you. Your attention belongs to you. We build tools that serve you, not the other way around.
Longevity over growth-at-all-costs
We're not optimizing for hockey-stick growth curves or exit strategies. We want to build things that last, that remain useful, that don't disappear when the funding runs out. Sustainable beats explosive.
Thoughtful design over noise
Every notification, every modal, every email asks for a slice of someone's attention. We take that seriously. If something doesn't need to exist, it shouldn't. Silence is a feature.
On Privacy
Privacy isn't a bullet point for us—it's foundational. We don't track users across the web. We don't sell data. We don't build profiles. We don't use dark patterns to extract consent.
We do use automation tools to improve productivity. Messages and shared content from this site may be processed by these tools before reaching our inbox. But your data will never be sold, and we don't store information in ways subject to exploitation.
We believe privacy is a right, not a premium feature. Our software is built with this assumption from the start, not bolted on after the fact.
Who We Are
Common Nexus is a small operation. We're not trying to be anonymous, but we also believe the work should speak louder than any individual. The company exists to support the projects, not the other way around.
